How is your gas supply managed and supplied?
Since market reforms in 1996, wholesale gas has been traded like any other commodity. Suppliers buy gas from shippers - companies who contract with offshore producers to bring gas onshore - in order to meet the demands of homes and businesses.
The Gas Industry in the
Producers/Importers - responsible for bringing gas onshore from the
Shippers - responsible for bringing gas onshore to the pipeline system, and trading gas and capacity with suppliers.
Xoserve Ltd- responsible for transporting gas on the high-pressure National Transmission System. Transporting gas on the Local Distribution Zones is done by National Grid and four other gas distribution companies.
Suppliers - are the companies who supply and sell gas to the consumer. The suppliers are the first point of contact when arranging a gas supply to domestic, commercial and smaller industrial premises.
